Scope of this Position

Must be energetic, able to sell multiple properties with different franchise affiliations, and strictly sales oriented. Must be a team player.

Essential Functions:

  • Implement and direct sales activities in accordance with the marketing plan
  • Coordinate service activities related to the sales functions to maximize customer satisfaction and overall profitability
  • Direct the reporting and appraising of results against planned objectives
  • Control dates, availability and rates on guest rooms
  • Design and propose programs to meet client needs
  • Negotiate with client to achieve maximum profit while satisfying client needs
  • Salvage accounts threatening cancellation and resolve problems
  • Contact clients in-house to promote goodwill and foster additional business, repeat bookings and referrals
  • Enhance community image and stay abreast of competition and new developments
  • Prepare reports to develop a more informative data base for improved management decision making and evaluation of work activities
  • Perform all duties in a timely and efficient manner, following established company policies and projecting a favorable image of the company to achieve objectives, public recognition and acceptance
  • Foster a cooperative and harmonious working climate conducive to maximum employee morale and productivity

Job Requirements:

Educational/Vocational Experience:

  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management or Marketing
  • A combination of vocational sales training and/or on-the-job training may substitute for a Bachelor\'s Degree
  • Marriott, IHG, and/or Hilton experience preferred

Essential Skills

  • Requires familiarity with applicable franchise front desk standards and procedures
  • Requires knowledge, skill and ability in hotel sales, to include the development of sales goals, development of marketing plans, design of client programs, knowledge of room rates, availability, and knowledge of all market segments
  • Requires management/supervisory skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must possess ability to professionally represent the properties to both guests and the communities
